Space
Beautiful traditional old Glasgow tenement flat has undergone refurbishment over the last few years. The rooms are comfortable, bright, and spacious with very high ceilings and some beautiful period features. There is a combined living and dining area which can comfortably fit 4 people. The flat is tastefully furnished with real wooden floors in the main living areas and carpets in the bedrooms. Situated on the ground floor, it is great for easy access.
KITCHEN
There is a bright, well-equipped kitchen that has a fridge/freezer, compact dishwasher, microwave, new washing machine and has all the utensils and equipment that you might need for a stay, including tea and coffee, rice and pasta, herbs and spices and a random assortment of condiments – help yourself to what you find!
LIVING & DINING ROOM
The living room has a three-seater couch that is perfect for stretching out after a day of exploring. There is a second loveseat that is super comfortable and perfect for curling up into. The room also contains the dining area, with a big solid oak table and 4 chairs. There is a 40″ tv with external speakers where you will have access to all the Freeview channels and radio stations. WIFI is included.
SHOWER ROOM
The room was completely refurbished recently and has a walk-in rainfall shower. Clean towels are provided.
MASTER BEDROOM
The main bedroom has a king-sized bed with a ‘medium’ firmness mattress. There is a large wardrobe with space for guests to use. Fresh, clean linen is provided.
GUEST ROOM
There are two single beds in the guest room. Fresh, clean linen is provided.
CHECK-IN- & OUT
Check-in @ 14:00 and check-out at @11:00 to allow for cleaning and preparation if new guests are arriving. Where availability permits, we will try to accommodate your particular travel times and baggage requirements.
CLEANING FEE
The is a nominal one-off cleaning fee of £20 per stay.
Transit
The flat is located between Pollokshields West and Queens Park Glasgow Train Stations, roughly about 3 minutes walk to each (1 and 2 stops to Glasgow Central respectively). Pollokshaws Road is a main bus artery for the south side of Glasgow and you can pick up buses to town, the west and east end from here. There is plenty of free street parking available outside.
Notes
When you enter the building, the flat is on the left hand side before the stairs – the name plate says ‘D Gorman, K McCrorie’.
Rental of a high chair or travel cot can be arranged, 48hrs notice is required.
Neighborhood
The flat is situated in the Conservation Area of Strathbungo, designated in 1973 for its architecture with some beautiful blonde and sandstone buildings. It is within a 5-10 minute walk between Queens Park (which has a nextbike station outside it) and Maxwell Park. Strathbungo/Pollokshields has changed over the last few years with lots of little quirky shops, eateries and pubs opening up but still manages to feel like a lovely little community.
Access
Guests will have the whole flat to themselves – make yourselves comfortable!
House Rules
We would ask that you not wear your shoes in the house to ensure that the light coloured carpets and real wooden floors to not get marked.
Smoking is absolutely not allowed in the flat or in the close outside for the sake of our neighbours.
One of us has allergies to pet fur, so we cannot have them staying – sorry.
It should be noted that this is not a party house – no loud music after 10pm, no parties.
Free wifi is included but we ask that you use this responsibly and legally.
